ABSTRACT: In this study, the degree of rock disruption and karstification is assessed using springs’ recession curves analysis. In the Strážovské vrchy Mts., 105 springs monitored by the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute on weekly or daily based for the period ranging from 10 to 40 years (discharge and water temperature observations) are situated. These springs were selected for this study, and evaluated from the point of view of discharged water quantity changes. As a result we introduce the table of average degree of rock karstification and groundwater vulnerability for individual springs and also for individual lithological rock types, forming the springs’ recharge areas.
