ABSTRACT: Existing data about environmental isotopes (H, 0, S, C, 14C, T) in mineral, geothermal and fresh water present in Hornonitrianska kotlina basin were collected and evaluated. All ground waters follow GMWL, mineral and geothermal waters are very stable in the range of few years, these old waters (few thousand l4C years and more) are unusually isotopic heavier than modern waters. Presence of tritium in the Bojnice spa mineral water confirms the participation of post-bomb groundwaters in its composition. Sulphate sulphur originates probably in sea evaporites of Triassic age. Very old groundwater (without 14C activity) is present in tertiary sediments of Hornonitrianska kotlina basin.
