ABSTRACT: Lizard lake, an attractive natural element situated near the village Silica in the territory of Slovac karst, became gradualIy parched and since 1993 is this in past almost 1.22 ha large watersheet practicalIy without water. Hydrologicai and climatic changes of natural environment around Lizard lake have been evaluated in effort to explain this state and to carry out steps for the salvation of this natural creation. Special consideration has been set on the reasons of water losses from the lake and on the resulting steps for the salvation arrangements.
